Igniter 2 - I2-R2 Release
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and supporters! Today I am very excited to unveil the Igniter 2 I2-R2 firmware update. This update comes with a ton of improvements and new features - so many so that I've broken down the release into 4 parts, and will be posting one video over the next 4 days going over each improvement. The first video is already attached to this thread; the following three videos will be added one per day.
Like previous releases from the Igniter Mini line, the I2-R2 release is a firmware update, meaning that anyone with an Igniter 2 board can grab the newest default files, and the new config editor, and will be able to start using the features right away. That means there is no need to send-in for an upgrade, and in fact an upgrade is completely free for any existing Igniter 2 customers, so long as you have access to your SD card. All new boards sold as of today will come with the new files directly on the card.
The new default files, config editor (for both Igniter 2 and Spark Color 2), and manual are already up on my site, though the Igniter 2 page will only be updated after Sunday, as to keep the features a surprise. You can get them here:

Spoilers - If you want to know the features by watching the videos, then don't look below this.
Set to zero to never go into low power.
Allows configuring one of 4 different combinations to turn on the saber.
Color Editor Amber support
Twist to "amber" for RGBA/RGBW or motor installations in the color editor.
SaberFX Idle Mode
Allows playing the fx quote in the idle menu for a font.
New sound bank for swing through and breaking objects.
Alternating clash allows swapping between the high clash color and low blade color, instead of choosing the clash color hue, then swapping between high and low intensity of that color. Enabling this allows a dramatic clash that changes in appearance when doing Dual Phase, as the eye will perceive the colors differently when the clash is the same but the blade color is different.
This is a per-font setting, so you can still use the legacy font behavior for any number of fonts.
Saber Demo app
The Saber Demo app allows you to turn on the saber and have it go through multiple actions without having to interact. Specifically, it will play through each font, doing a random number and selection of actions, then after doing each font will do each track in Saber Cinema, including enabling the saber there as well.
You can configure the delay between fonts, delay between actions, and delay to engage the saber in saber cinema.
LED Driver Overhaul = NeoPixel support!
In this video I go over the big surprise, the overhaul to the LED driver which is for...
NeoPixel string support!
Here I show how to build a string using either pre-build strips of the 5mm straw hat individual NeoPixels. Then I talk about both Extension/Retraction Flow, and Impact Blast(TM), the two specific features for the string blades. I also talk about how Alternating Clash is optimized for strings. Finally I show an amazing demo, and talk about why you would or wouldn't go with stings.
Remember, Igniter 2 supports both normal high-power LEDs and NeoPixels now - one board, two blades!
Thanks again everyone for the support, Godspeed, and happy Thanksgiving to you all!
